Always use safe stretching technique.

The quadriceps is a group of 4 muscles that run along the front of the thigh. To stretch your quadriceps muscles:
Stand near a wall or something sturdy for support.  If you have very good balance this stretch can be come without holding on to something.
Grasp your ankle and gently pull your heel up towards your buttocks until you feel a stretch in the front of the thigh.  Keep the knees together.
Tighten your stomach muscles to prevent your stomach from sagging outward.

Take slow deep breaths and hold for 15 to 30 seconds.  Switch legs and repeat.
